Kodo Guardians: The Future in Safe Hands
We are thrilled to announce that the KIP-000 proposal has been successfully executed, marking a monumental milestone in Kodo’s journey towards decentralization. This achievement signifies the official transition of Kodo into a community-owned protocol. You can track the progress and status of all proposals at Kodo Improvement Proposals on GitHub. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the community for their active participation in transforming this proposal from a draft into a reality through discussion and execution.
A Vision Realized
From day one, the founding team has been driven by a determination to build public goods within the Taiko ecosystem. Achieving a fully permissionless system seemed like an unreachable goal for the Kodo team, but we have consistently strived to make the protocol more transparent, fair, and decentralized. This relentless pursuit has now culminated in a significant victory: the initial team no longer controls Kodo; the community does.
Meet the Kodo Guardians
The success of KIP-000 has led to the formation of an esteemed group of individuals who will guide Kodo forward. The current members of Kodo’s multi-signature wallet are:
- Andy Bush (𝕏: @AndyBysh) — Taiko & Kodo
- Frank — Loopring & Taiko Community
- Jonathan Herrera (𝕏: @curto_05) — Capa.fi & LaDAO
- Nirry (𝕏: @nirryen) — Loopring & Taiko Community
- System32 [Kodo’s Representative] (𝕏: @system32eth) — Loopring & Taiko Community
- The Narator (𝕏: @alpha_music0420) — Aave & Cian
These members are well-known and respected figures within our community. They will manage core permissions and assets, approve transactions, and act as decision-makers through multi-signature voting until we have a DAO voting tool in place. Their role is crucial in ensuring the security and integrity of Kodo as we move towards a fully decentralized future.
Building Trust and Seeking Support
We recognize the immense importance of earning the trust and support of Taiko’s official team for Kodo to become a successful protocol. We hope that Kodo can receive the same support as other projects within the Taiko ecosystem, including but not limited to:
- Inclusion on Taiko’s ecosystem page
- Endorsement from Taiko’s official Twitter and Discord ecosystem channels
- Allocation of Trailblazer scores to addresses that have interacted with Kodo
- Access to Taiko’s grant rewards to attract more users
Our intention is not to manipulate the Taiko team into giving us what we want, but rather to earn the trust of the entire community, including the Taiko team, by making the protocol more transparent, fair, and decentralized. We believe that by showcasing our commitment and the proactive engagement of our community, we can demonstrate the value and potential of Kodo.
Our Commitment to Transparency and Decentralization
The journey towards a fully decentralized and permissionless system is ongoing. We are committed to continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring that Kodo remains at the forefront of decentralized finance. By transferring control to the community, we are fostering an environment where everyone has a voice and a stake in the future of Kodo.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this significant milestone, we are also looking ahead with optimism and ambition. The Kodo Guardians are poised to lead us into a new era of growth and innovation. With the community at the helm, we are confident that Kodo’s future is indeed in safe hands.
We envision Kodo becoming a cornerstone of the Taiko ecosystem, a protocol that exemplifies the principles of decentralization and community empowerment. Our goal is to build a robust, user-centric platform that not only meets the needs of our users but also sets new standards in the DeFi space.
We invite everyone to join us on this exciting journey. Whether you are a long-time supporter or new to the Kodo community, your participation and feedback are invaluable. Together, we can build a brighter, more decentralized future.
In a nutshell, we are excited to embark on this new adventure with the Kodo Guardians leading the way. With the community at the helm, Kodo’s future is indeed in safe hands. We look forward to continuing our work together, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in decentralized finance, and creating lasting value for all.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement. Let’s make Kodo a shining example of what a community-driven protocol can achieve.
